TOP COSMETIC SURGERY TRENDS FOR 2016

INCREASE IN THE NUMBER OF LOWER EYELID SURGERIES PERFORMED

Dr. Geroulis predicts an increase in the number of lower eyelid surgeries, also sometimes referred to as lower blepharoplasty procedures, in the remainder of 2016. He feels that there will be a particular increase for adults under the age of 40. While that age group might sound young, many men and women are undergoing lower eyelid surgery as young as 35, and Dr. Geroulis believes this will only continue to become a larger trend. There are many contributing societal trends, such as men and women marrying later, which may have led to this increase. According to a 2015 study by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, eyelid surgery is in the top 5 most popular cosmetic surgical procedures, with more than 200,000 performed nationally that year.
